AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV) has been awarded a significant five-year contract worth $874.26 million by the U.S. Army Contracting Command. This Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement will facilitate future Foreign Military Sales, allowing allied and partner nations to procure a comprehensive suite of the company’s battle-proven autonomous systems through the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Aviation.

The contract covers the supply of a range of Group 1-3 unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-UAS (C-UAS) solutions, including specific variants of the JUMP 20™, P550™, Puma™, Raven™, and Titan C-UAS™. Each sale will also include essential training, initial spares, and logistics support, ensuring partner forces can effectively deploy and sustain the capabilities.

“We are delivering innovative defense technologies to meet our national security priorities – at home and abroad,” said Justin McFarlin, Vice President of International Business Development for AV. He emphasized that the contract will accelerate efforts to provide warfighters worldwide with trusted, lightweight systems that offer mission flexibility, critical situational awareness, and protection against emerging threats.

The portfolio under this contract addresses diverse operational needs. The JUMP 20 is a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing UAS providing over 13 hours of endurance for advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). The newer P550, a Group 2 eVTOL system, offers rapid deployment and up to 5 hours of battery-powered operation with advanced AI for smarter mission execution.

For highly portable, all-environment operations, the Puma platform delivers modular adaptability for both land and maritime missions. The hand-launched Raven remains the world’s most widely deployed small UAS, offering rapid-deploy, low-altitude ISR. To counter adversarial drones, the Titan system provides a rapidly deployable RF-based solution to detect and defeat UAS threats in complex environments, with over 1,000 units already deployed globally.

“AV’s platforms are deployed around the world, supporting the most important missions for our national security and the protection of our allies,” said Jason Hendrix, Vice President of Small Uncrewed Systems. “We’re continually looping frontline feedback into our platforms and scaling production to ensure our warfighters have the tools they need to stay ahead of evolving threats.”

This major contract underscores AeroVironment’s role as a key provider of autonomous systems and reinforces the strategic effort to enhance the capabilities of allied and partner forces through U.S. foreign military sales channels.
