IDV, a Leonardo company, has opened a new production line for the LMV-BR 2 4×4 multirole vehicle at its Sete Lagoas facility in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The first units will meet a contract with the Brazilian Army for 420 vehicles. Developed from IDV’s proven LMV platform, the LMV-BR 2 offers enhanced mobility, protection, and versatility for troops in diverse and challenging missions.
The inauguration was attended by Generals from the Brazilian Army’s High Command, who toured the new facility and reviewed IDV’s industrial capabilities. This production line advances IDV’s technological and productive capacity in Brazil, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the nation’s defence industrial base. The Brazilian Army already operates 32 LMV-BR vehicles, all receiving continuous maintenance and support from IDV. High fleet reliability and availability demonstrate IDV’s dedication to military readiness worldwide.
Beyond serving Brazil, the new line will support global expansion and future exports. By expanding its industrial structure, IDV consolidates its strategic defence market position and strengthens Brazil as a hub for producing and supplying defence vehicles internationally. IDV’s LMV platform remains the company’s flagship light multirole vehicle, with over 4,000 units in service globally, available with various protection levels, cab configurations, and mission-specific variants.
