Airbus opens new Singapore logistics hub.

Airbus Helicopters has inaugurated a new regional logistics centre in Singapore, establishing a strategic hub for its Asia-Pacific support network. The facility is designed to enhance supply chain agility and accelerate parts distribution for customers across 21 countries and territories in the region.

According to Vincent Dubrule, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific at Airbus Helicopters, the hub represents a pivotal investment. “This positions Singapore at the heart of our global support network,” Dubrule stated. “It’s about building a logistics chain that is agile and reliable, ensuring mission success for our customers with faster and more predictable support for decades to come.”

The Singapore hub is the flagship of a regional network that includes supplementary distribution centres in Hong Kong and Perth, Australia. This integrated system backs 12 customer centres with dedicated teams managing spares, repairs, and urgent AOG (Aircraft on Ground) support.

Spanning nearly 2,000 square metres, the facility houses over 20,000 part numbers for spares and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities. A key feature is its high-tech storage system: four Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs). These automated, high-density systems use a central extractor to store and retrieve items from vertical columns of trays, delivering components directly to an operator. This technology optimises floor space and slashes retrieval times for everything from small consumables to large assemblies.

A specialised 55-square-metre elastomers room provides critical climate control for sensitive rubberised components. Maintaining a strict temperature range between 5°C and 25°C, this protected space safeguards up to 2,000 critical parts from degradation, ensuring their long-term reliability.

Launched with an initial inventory valued at €10 million, the hub is projected to double its stock as it reaches full operational capacity. The centre underscores Airbus Helicopters’ long-term commitment to elevating customer support and operational efficiency across the Asia-Pacific region.
