At CES 2026, Archer Aviation announced a pivotal collaboration with NVIDIA, selecting the cutting-edge NVIDIA IGX Thor platform to build the next generation of artificial intelligence for its electric air taxi ecosystem. This partnership aims to embed powerful, safety-critical AI directly into Archer’s aircraft and operations, targeting a transformative leap in aviation safety, airspace integration, and autonomous readiness.

Central to this effort is the NVIDIA IGX Thor, a high-reliability computing module engineered for real-time decision-making in safety-critical environments. Archer plans to integrate this platform into future iterations of its aircraft, utilizing its immense processing power to enable advanced perception, predictive analytics, and complex flight management.

The collaboration, which began in early 2025, will focus on three core AI development areas:

  1. Enhanced Pilot Safety & Predictive Awareness: Leveraging NVIDIA’s edge computing to process sensor and flight-path data in real-time, providing pilots with earlier and more actionable insights into their environment.
  2. Seamless Airspace Integration: Developing AI systems designed to help modernize airspace management, enabling Archer’s aircraft to safely navigate today’s complex airspace with improved dynamic routing and traffic-aware flight planning.
  3. Autonomy-Ready Flight Controls: Pairing the IGX Thor hardware with Archer’s proprietary software to create a robust computing architecture foundational for future autonomous and semi-autonomous flight operations.

Archer will debut and test these integrated technologies at its recently acquired facility at Hawthorne Airport in Los Angeles. This site is slated to become the operational hub for its planned LA air taxi network and a primary test bed for its AI-powered aviation systems.

“CES has always been a launchpad for technologies that reshape industries,” said Adam Goldstein, Archer’s Founder and CEO. “NVIDIA’s AI compute capabilities and software stack give us the foundation to accelerate toward safer, smarter aircraft systems and modernize how aviation interfaces with the world’s airspace.”

Initial integration work is already in progress within Archer’s development pipeline, with broader applications envisioned across manufacturing, fleet operations, and pilot training. This alliance with NVIDIA significantly expands Archer’s ecosystem of strategic, AI-focused partnerships as it advances toward commercial service.
