The systems will be deployed on specialized military vehicles by a local integration partner, enabling rapid dispatch to infiltration hotspots. For maximum flexibility, the radars can also be trailer-mounted on elevated masts or dismounted and operated from a tripod, ensuring coverage in rugged, vehicle-inaccessible terrain.

A key feature of the Blighter B400 is its solid-state, electronic-scanning design. With no moving parts, the radar is highly reliable, easily transportable, and can be quickly reconfigured to adapt to evolving border threats. Its low-power, Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) technology delivers uninterrupted surveillance, capable of detecting moving vehicles and individuals—including crawlers—at distances up to 32 km.

James Long, CEO of Blighter, commented, “Having served this nation for years, we are proud they have again selected our technology to monitor their diverse and challenging border regions, which include mountains, forests, deserts, and coastlines.”

The solution includes Blighter’s AI-assisted BlighterNexus software, which seamlessly integrates the new radars with existing sensor networks. This creates a unified Common Operating Picture (COP) for command centers, significantly boosting situational awareness. The system allows operators to detect, track, and classify small surface targets like people, vehicles, and vessels, as well as low-flying aerial threats, in real-time and in all weather conditions.

“Our scalable architecture allows multiple radars to be managed from a single interface, providing a smart, secure, and comprehensive view of the border,” added Long. “This integration is designed to minimize blind spots and enhance coordination between surveillance operators and response teams.”

Blighter’s radars are trusted by defense forces worldwide, including the UK MoD, the South Korean Army along the DMZ, and the US Air Force, solidifying its reputation as a leader in ground-based surveillance technology.
