Bombardier has solidified its relationship with long-standing customer Vista through a monumental order for its market-leading Challenger 3500 aircraft. The agreement includes firm orders for 40 jets, accompanied by purchase options for an additional 120 aircraft. Based on 2026 list prices, the firm segment is valued at $1.18 billion, with the potential total value reaching $4.72 billion should all options be exercised.
The deal underscores the enduring appeal of the Challenger 3500, which has dominated the super-midsize category since its introduction. Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, emphasized the aircraft’s role in setting industry standards. “Bombardier jets pioneered the super-midsize category, and the Challenger 3500 continues to raise the bar with its blend of performance, reliability, and cabin comfort,” Martel stated. He noted that Vista, a valued client since its inception, recognizes the aircraft’s balance of cutting-edge technology and proven value, making this significant expansion of their partnership a natural progression.
For Vista, the acquisition is a strategic move focused on long-term fleet development rather than short-term market fluctuations.
