CAE, a global leader in aviation training, and the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR) have announced a strategic partnership to transform and modernize Air Navigation Services (ANS) training across Europe. This collaboration unites CAE’s worldwide training network and digital innovation with the deep operational expertise and renowned training excellence of ANS CR’s Czech Aviation Navigation Institute (CANI). Their shared goal is to build a scalable, future-ready training ecosystem for air traffic controllers.

The initiative responds directly to pressing industry challenges, including rising air traffic volumes, evolving regulatory landscapes, and workforce shortages. By leveraging a flexible framework that incorporates advanced technology, regional training centers, and portable solutions, the partnership aims to enhance training capacity and accessibility for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) throughout Europe and globally.

“The aviation industry is in a period of rapid growth and evolving demands, creating opportunities to rethink training capacity and workforce development,” said Marie-Christine Cloutier, CAE’s Vice President, Performance, Strategy and Marketing. “By joining forces with ANS CR, we are leveraging the expertise of two industry leaders to shape a new and innovative approach to ANS training.”

A key strength of the partnership is CANI’s unique dual alignment with both European Union (EU) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. This positions the collaboration to seamlessly serve European ANSPs while also supporting international partners seeking high-fidelity training within Europe.

“We see this partnership with CAE as a transformative step,” said Jan Klas, CEO of ANS CR. “By combining our operational know-how with CAE’s global leadership and digital capabilities, we are creating a modern ecosystem that will strengthen controller readiness for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.”

The integrated approach will see CANI’s proven methodologies enhanced with CAE’s advanced technologies, such as AI-driven adaptive learning and digital assessment tools. Benefits for ANSPs will include updated, competency-based curricula, immersive training environments, and robust instructor development programs. This comprehensive ecosystem is designed to elevate controller proficiency and address the growing complexities of global airspace, ensuring a safer and more efficient future for aviation.
