De Havilland Canada has delivered an OEM-refurbished Dash 8-400 to TrueNoord, marking the latest milestone in the lessor’s fleet expansion strategy. The aircraft will operate under lease with Nexus Airlines, a fast-growing regional carrier based in Australia.
Completed at De Havilland Canada’s Calgary facility, the refurbishment restores the turboprop to a near-new condition. The OEM Refurbished Program combines rigorous overhauls with customized upgrades, offering operators a modern, dependable alternative to new production while maximizing lifecycle value.
“We’re pleased to grow our partnership with TrueNoord and support Nexus Airlines as they scale regional operations around the Dash 8-400,” said Ryan DeBrusk, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at De Havilland Canada. “Our refurbished aircraft deliver the same performance and reliability operators expect, with the flexibility to tailor configurations to real-world mission needs.”
For TrueNoord, the transaction reinforces its commitment to the regional aviation segment. Carst Lindeboom, Director Asia Pacific at TrueNoord, noted that the aircraft’s rapid deployment readiness and operational pedigree were decisive factors. “This program provides a high-quality asset that meets lessee expectations with minimal lead time. We’re confident Nexus Airlines will maximize its potential across Western Australia’s diverse network.”
Nexus Airlines views the arrival as a strategic enabler. Managing Director Michael McConachy emphasized that the aircraft’s range, hot-and-high performance, and short-field capability are ideal for serving remote communities. “This isn’t just a fleet addition—it’s a reinforcement of our promise to deliver reliable, community-first connectivity. The Dash 8-400 has earned its reputation, and this refurbished example is as capable as the day it first flew.”
The Dash 8-400 remains a mainstay of regional aviation, valued for its balance of speed, fuel efficiency, and payload flexibility. As global demand for regional lift grows, De Havilland Canada’s refurbishment initiative offers a sustainable bridge between aging fleets and next-generation platforms.
With this delivery, De Havilland Canada continues to demonstrate that refurbishment, executed to OEM standards, can extend asset longevity without compromising performance. For operators and lessors alike, the model presents a compelling value proposition: proven airframes, modernized systems, and rapid availability—backed by full OEM support.
