DroneShield has been selected as a supplier on the Australian Department of Defence’s Project LAND 156 Line of Effort 3 panel. This initiative establishes a standing Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) Services panel, aimed at addressing the evolving threat of drones to domestic security and defence sites.
As a selected Category 2 provider, DroneShield is now positioned to offer its hardware, software, command-and-control systems, and associated support services to Defence under a streamlined Capability-as-a-Service (CaaS) procurement model. This panel provides a dedicated mechanism for Defence to efficiently engage domestic counter-drone planning and support services.
The selection places DroneShield on a multi-supplier panel, though it does not guarantee specific contracts. Instead, the arrangement enables Defence authorities to assess individual bases or site clusters and tender for tailored counter-drone solutions directly through the panel. This process is designed to accelerate deployment timelines and provide flexible, site-specific protection.
The strategic importance of this capability is underscored by significant government investment. The Australian Minister for Defence Industry noted the government has allocated approximately $1.3 billion over the next decade for counter-drone acquisitions under Project LAND 156.
DroneShield’s Chief Executive, Oleg Vornik, stated, “We welcome the opportunity to support Defence through this Panel arrangement and stand ready to deliver battle-proven, software-defined C-sUAS solutions.”
Echoing the operational need, AIRCDRE (Ret’d) Terry Van Haren DSM, DroneShield’s Vice President of Strategy, commented, “The growing threat from small drones demands practical, tested solutions. We encourage Government and Defence stakeholders to utilize this panel to experience DroneShield’s proven capabilities in safeguarding critical assets.”
The panel will serve Defence and other Whole-of-Government sites, providing a rapid and compliant pathway to acquire and deploy integrated counter-drone systems as a service.
