Embraer has formalized a comprehensive service agreement to provide sustained maintenance, logistical, and technical support for the Hungarian Air Force’s fleet of C-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft. The contract leverages Embraer’s established European footprint to ensure the Hungarian aircraft maintain peak operational readiness.

The partnership underscores a deepening relationship with Hungary, which stands as the second NATO member nation to operate the C-390. Hungary achieved a significant milestone in November 2025, becoming the first C-390 operator to receive its entire contracted fleet. The nation now boasts two of the next-generation aircraft, with the first unit entering service in late 2024. Since its induction, the lead Hungarian aircraft has demonstrated exceptional reliability, achieving a mission completion rate exceeding 99% while performing a diverse array of operational tasks.

“This agreement represents a pivotal advancement in our collaboration with the Hungarian Air Force,” stated Douglas Lobo, Vice President of Customer Support & Aftermarket Sales for Embraer Services & Support. “Our objective is to forge a lasting relationship that guarantees sustained operational excellence through tailored, comprehensive support solutions. Hungary’s early experience with the platform has already validated the aircraft’s outstanding reliability and versatility. We are eager to continue this partnership to fulfill both current and emerging mission requirements.”

The Hungarian C-390s are designed to execute a broad spectrum of military and civilian operations. Their capabilities include medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, cargo and troop transport, precision cargo airdrops, paratrooper deployments, and aerial refueling. Notably, the Hungarian aircraft are the first C-390s globally to be equipped with a modular roll-on/roll-off medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), enhancing their utility in critical care evacuation scenarios. This agreement ensures that these advanced capabilities are backed by a robust support structure, securing the fleet’s long-term operational effectiveness.
