Kopin Corporation has received a $3.6 million purchase order to supply its advanced helmet-mounted display (HMD) systems for a rotary-wing military platform operated by a European defense force. The award deepens Kopin’s role as a critical partner in international defense, providing the visual backbone for pilots operating in high-stakes environments.

The HMD system functions as an intuitive pilot interface, overlaying essential flight data—including navigation cues, aircraft symbology, and weapons status—directly onto the pilot’s natural field of view. By utilizing high-brightness, high-clarity microdisplays, the technology ensures that critical information remains visible even in challenging light conditions. This integration is designed to minimize cockpit workload and enhance situational awareness, allowing pilots to focus on mission execution rather than instrument scanning.

Scheduled deliveries will begin in 2026 and extend over a five-year period, aligning with the long-term production and sustainment requirements of the aircraft platform. This sustained commitment from the European customer highlights the reliability and mission-readiness of Kopin’s engineered solutions.

“This order reflects the trust placed in our technology by global defense forces,” said Iwan Dodd, SVP of Business Development. “We are providing more than just a display; we are delivering a critical safety and performance tool that ensures pilots have access to real-time data without losing focus on the battle space.”

With this award, Kopin’s order book for pilot HMD applications alone has surpassed $10 million, signaling strong demand for its U.S.-engineered display systems.
