Brisbane, Australia, 10 December 2025 – Airbus has announced the first Australian order for its H160 medium helicopter from Linfox, the nation’s prominent privately-owned logistics enterprise. This landmark deal, following a comprehensive national demonstration tour, introduces a new generation of rotary-wing aircraft to the Australian market.
The H160, designated for corporate passenger transport across Australia, represents Linfox’s inaugural fleet addition from Airbus. The decision was solidified after a four-week demonstration campaign where the helicopter performed over 60 flights, covering more than 2,000 kilometres to showcase its operational adaptability.
Lindsay Fox, Founder of the Linfox Group, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming delivery, highlighting it as the start of a long-term partnership. “We look forward to a relationship with a company that has a proven record of performance, safety and reliability,” Fox stated.
Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, welcomed Linfox as a new customer. “This first order marks an important milestone for Airbus in Australia,” Michalon said. “We look forward to seeing the H160 take flight in the country soon, delivering exceptional value and enhanced safety.”
The H160 is engineered as a multi-role platform, with global applications spanning from emergency medical services (EMS) and law enforcement to offshore energy support and private travel. Its advanced Helionix avionics suite enhances situational awareness and reduces pilot workload, contributing to its high safety standards.
A key focus of the H160’s design is reducing environmental impact. Its innovative Blue Edge main rotor blades and canted Fenestron® tail rotor significantly lower external sound levels. Powered by Safran Arrano engines, the helicopter burns approximately 18% less fuel than previous generation aircraft and is certified to operate on a 50% blend of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The helicopter’s spacious cabin offers excellent visibility and can be swiftly reconfigured for various missions, underscoring its role as a versatile and efficient asset for Australian operations.
