Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu Limited have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly accelerate the development of dual-use technologies. This partnership aims to merge Lockheed Martin’s systems integration expertise with Fujitsu’s leading-edge commercial technology and global scale, driving innovation for both defense and commercial applications.

The collaboration will focus on advancing several critical technological domains. Key areas include quantum computing, edge computing enabled by advanced sensing, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), next-generation microelectronics, and multi-domain network solutions. By combining their strengths, the companies intend to build a stronger technological foundation for solutions that can serve a broad range of security and societal needs.

“By coupling our respective expertise, we create a force multiplier for innovation,” said Craig Martell, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Lockheed Martin. “This collaboration is about delivering critical technologies—from microelectronics to quantum solutions—with greater speed to meet our customers’ evolving future needs.”

Fujitsu’s leadership echoed the sentiment, highlighting the strategic value of the alliance. “We are honored to work with a defense technology leader like Lockheed Martin,” said Vivek Mahajan, Corporate Executive Officer and CTO at Fujitsu. “This partnership is aimed at developing advanced information and communication technologies for dual-use applications, which we believe will significantly strengthen the competitive position of both companies.”

This new agreement builds upon an existing relationship between the two corporations. In May 2025, Fujitsu was selected to supply a critical power system component for Lockheed Martin’s SPY-7 radar and the companies began a strategic collaboration to strengthen Japan’s defense industrial base. The latest MOU significantly expands this partnership, moving beyond a supplier relationship to a broader, co-development model focused on pioneering the next generation of foundational technologies.
