Philippine Airlines (PAL) has solidified its long-standing collaboration with Airbus through a renewed, multi-year contract for Flight Hour Services (FHS) across its entire Airbus fleet. The expanded agreement, which encompasses PAL’s nine A350-1000s, 11 A330 Family aircraft, and 43 A320 Family units, marks a significant step in the airline’s strategy to ensure world-class operational stability and technical reliability.
The comprehensive contract delivers full-scale component support, including standard exchanges, advanced repair services, reliability monitoring, and engineering expertise. Additionally, Airbus will maintain on-site stock at PAL’s primary hub in Manila, enabling faster turnaround times and reducing aircraft-on-ground incidents. The tailored solution is designed to maximize fleet availability while offering PAL greater cost predictability—a critical factor in today’s dynamic aviation landscape.
PAL and Airbus FHS first joined forces in 2018, initially covering the airline’s A350-900 fleet. The partnership deepened in 2022 when support was extended to include the A320 and A330 fleets. This latest renewal further cements a relationship built on mutual trust and a shared pursuit of operational excellence.
“We are honored that Philippine Airlines continues to place its confidence in Airbus FHS,” said Anand Stanley, President of Airbus Asia-Pacific. “This agreement is more than a contract renewal; it is a testament to our enduring partnership and aligned vision for efficiency and innovation. By integrating our global supply chain expertise with localized support in Manila, we are empowering PAL to enhance performance while maintaining long-term cost efficiency.”
For Philippine Airlines, the renewed partnership aligns with its broader commitment to fleet modernization and guest experience. With Airbus FHS managing complex supply chain and engineering requirements, PAL can focus on its core mission: delivering safe, reliable, and seamless air travel.
Airbus FHS remains a global benchmark in Power-by-the-Hour material services, particularly for A330 and A350 operators. The program leverages Airbus’s extensive digital ecosystem and predictive maintenance capabilities to offer customized, scalable support. This holistic approach not only improves technical dispatch reliability but also reduces administrative and inventory burdens on the airline.
As PAL continues to expand its international footprint and premium services, the extended FHS agreement ensures that its Airbus fleet remains at peak readiness. The collaboration underscores how strategic maintenance partnerships can serve as a catalyst for long-term competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
