This contract extends a successful collaboration, following the delivery of eight NAVICS-equipped patrol boats to the Royal Australian Navy. Charles Nuttall-Smith, Head of Maritime Domain at Rohde & Schwarz Australia, stated that NAVICS will revolutionise onboard communications for the ABF by implementing a modern, IP-based Multi-Level Security (MLS) architecture.
Gareth Evans, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Australia, highlighted that this role as the communications system integrator (CSI) for the ECCPB and the Hunter Class Frigate Program signifies a major uplift in Australia’s sovereign communications design and integration capability. He noted that the ABF’s selection of the company validates the Commonwealth’s continued investment in its locally developed expertise, built over 40 years of operation.
