STARLUX Airlines has officially expanded its fleet with the delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, making it the eleventh airline worldwide to operate this largest variant of the A350. This aircraft is the initial unit of an order for 18, and it will serve as the new flagship for the Taiwan-based carrier.
The new A350-1000 will join STARLUX’s existing fleet of 10 A350-900s, reinforcing its premium long-haul network from Taipei to destinations in Europe, North America, and key Asia-Pacific routes. The airline celebrated the arrival with a special carbon-fiber-inspired livery. The design merges the carrier’s signature branding with a pattern symbolizing the advanced composite materials used in the aircraft’s construction, prominently featuring ‘1000’ on the fuselage.
STARLUX maintains an all-Airbus fleet, including the A321neo and A330-900, and the A350-1000 is set to integrate seamlessly. Additionally, the airline has placed an order for 10 A350F freighters to develop its future cargo operations.
As the world’s most modern widebody, the A350 sets new benchmarks for efficiency and comfort. Its innovative design incorporates advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and new-generation engines, which together reduce fuel burn, operating costs, and CO2 emissions by approximately 25% compared to previous-generation aircraft. Passengers enjoy the Airspace cabin, known for its spacious feel, wide seats, high ceilings, and customizable ambient lighting.
Aligned with aviation’s sustainability goals, the A350 is already certified to fly with up to a 50% blend of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is working toward enabling 100% SAF capability across its aircraft fleet by 2030.
